WASHINGTON, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Ahead of the theatrical release of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping on November 20, 2026, World Food Program USA, Suzanne Collins, and Lionsgate today launched a global fan challenge to deliver one million meals to families facing hunger around the world. This challenge is part of a robust campaign to raise awareness and critical funds for global hunger during the end-of-year giving season. Fans can use their generosity, creativity, and voices to help build a hunger-free world by taking action at wfpusa.org/HungerGamesMovie.

"Freedom from hunger is a basic human right, which is why my family has long supported World Food Program USA," said Suzanne Collins. "Please join us in spreading the word about the need to secure adequate nutrition for our neighbors around the world."
Every fan action supports the mission of the World Food Programme (WFP), which delivers food and hope to families across the globe when they need it most. To get started, fans can visit wfpusa.org/HungerGamesMovie to learn more and take the following actions powered by the Zero Hunger Generation, World Food Program USA's youth movement for students and young professionals to help end world hunger.
- Send a Meal: Donate* to support WFP's critical work and help deliver one million meals to families facing hunger. To kick off the campaign, Suzanne Collins and Charles Pryor will match donations made at wfpusa.org/HungerGamesMovie dollar for dollar ─ doubling fan impact.
- Paint a Poster: Send a video or written message of hope, gratitude, or inspiration to a humanitarian worker on the front lines of the hunger crisis.
- Take the Character Quiz: Find out which character from The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping you share qualities with and learn how your strengths align with the real-world fight against hunger.
Fans can do even more with the Zero Hunger Generation. For a limited time, Zero Hunger Generation members can join a Hunger Games book club and post a reaction to the film upon its release to earn special The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping badges and certificates. Through the Zero Hunger Generation program, World Food Program USA is mobilizing a community of young people around hunger relief with educational, service-oriented, and career-building activities.
Today, over 260 million people globally experience severe hunger. In the hardest-to-reach places on Earth, WFP is there saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability, and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters, and the impact of extreme weather.
To reach fans across the globe, World Food Program USA will deploy a campaign alongside Lionsgate, WFP, and ShareTheMeal that cuts across social media, digital advertising, email, SMS, a U.S. TV public service announcement, and that will feature special messages from cast members calling on fans to get involved. World Food Program USA's goal is to help fans learn how small actions can make a big impact and inspire the next generation of hunger relief advocates.
"We are grateful to our generous partners Suzanne Collins and Charles Pryor, and Lionsgate, for helping us engage Hunger Games fans in the movement to end global hunger," said Barron Segar, President and CEO of World Food Program USA. "Hunger is one of the world's most urgent crises, but it is also solvable. By donating, sharing a message of hope, or lending their voice, this generation of fans can become part of the solution."
