NEW YORK, Oct. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The G. and R. Loeb Foundation Inc. and UCLA Anderson School of Management announced the winners of the 2026 Gerald Loeb Awards tonight at Capitale in New York City on Thursday, October 8. Lifetime achievement honoree Stephen Engelberg, editor-in-chief for ProPublica, and Minard Editor honoree Marcelo Prince, investigations coverage chief at The Wall Street Journal, were celebrated during the event, which was attended by journalists, media leaders and supporters from around the world. The foundation and awards were created in 1957 to encourage and recognize reporting on business, finance and the economy that informs and protects investors and the public. The Loeb Awards are considered the highest honor in business journalism in the United States.

Tyler Mathisen, former co-anchor of CNBC's "Power Lunch," served as the master of ceremonies for the show, which also included a moment of silence for all the journalists who are currently detained, imprisoned, have died or gone missing while simply doing their job. Throughout the show, competition categories were presented by journalists from Bloomberg, The Boston Globe, CBS News New York City, CNN, NYSE TV and Schwab Network. Announcements of category finalists were voiced by Frank Mottek, host of "Mottek on Money" on KABC-AM.

About Gerald Loeb
Gerald Martin Loeb was born in 1899 in San Francisco, California. He began his career in 1921 in the bond department of a securities firm. He moved to New York City in 1924 to help establish E.F. Hutton and eventually ascended to vice chairman of the board. During Gerald Loeb's career, he was a favorite of business and financial journalists for his willingness to be interviewed and was described as "probably the most quoted man on Wall Street" (Forbes 1955). He was also an author of two investment strategy books, a guest columnist for Forbes and widely considered a Wall Street icon. In 1957, he established the G. and R.
