According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Americans spend approximately 90% of their time indoors, where concentrations of certain pollutants are often two to five times higher than typical outdoor levels. PECO-HEPA Advanced™ Technology: Three Technologies, One Filter

At the heart of both new purifiers is Molekule's PECO-HEPA Advanced Technology, Molekule's next-generation filtration system is engineered to address a broader range of airborne pollutants beyond what HEPA particle filtration can achieve by itself. PECO-HEPA Advanced Technology works through three integrated components: (i) high-efficiency HEPA media that captures microscopic particles including dust, pollen and smoke; (ii) an advanced activated carbon layer that adsorbs certain VOCs, gases and odors; and (iii) UV-A-activated photocatalytic media engineered to effectively destroy certain organic pollutants including VOCs (such as formaldehyde) and biological contaminants (such as allergens, mold, viruses and bacteria) at the filter surface. PECO-HEPA Advanced Technology incorporates a patent-pending photocatalytic method and patented hybrid filter developed to improve pollutant breakdown and maintain performance across its recommended six-month replacement cycle.
