Singapore - Hotel Resource Co, a hospitality furniture and equipment supplier based on Aljunied Road, has moved custom fabrication to the front of its banquet and MICE range. Why hotels are asking for it
Singapore booked S$23.9 billion in tourism receipts last year, a record, and business events carried a large share of that figure according to numbers reported by TTGmice in February 2026. Ballrooms are taking more bookings, and more kinds of bookings. A room that holds a plenary session in the morning and a standing reception at night has to change over in an hour, and the furniture has to hold up through both. Catalogue sizing does not always fit a room that was renovated around a column, a low soffit or a service door in an awkward spot.
What has been built so far

Published prices give a sense of the range: a steel room attendant trolley is listed at S$1,700, a Burgess room service trolley with hot box at S$2,950, a live buffet station at S$7,800, and a custom coffee cabinet at S$11,000.
"A ballroom refit rarely hands you a clean rectangle to work with. We get asked for a counter that fits one specific alcove, or a trolley that clears a service lift by two centimetres. Drawing that piece and building it usually costs the hotel less than reworking the room around a standard size," said Hotel Resource Co.
What sits around the custom work
The catalogue has not shrunk. Banquet and contract furniture covers Mendola and Orvia chairs, A fold and nestable tables, cocktail tables, centrefold platforms with and without guard rails, and the Florlok, Multilok, Nightlok and Publok portable flooring systems. Trolleys and carts come from Ascolia, Elite and Burgess. The company also supplies hospitality fabrics and linens, kitchen equipment and guestroom furnishing.
How the sourcing works
Hotel Resource works through long term agreements with hospitality manufacturers rather than one off purchases, and pulls peripheral products through partners in China and the United States. Its buyers sit in premier hotels, resorts, service apartments, private clubs, restaurants and catering companies, and in the education, healthcare and corporate sectors. Logos on the company's client wall include Marriott, Pullman Hotels, The Standard, Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore and SAFRA.
"Hotels have stopped buying furniture for one event. They want a piece that works for a gala dinner on Saturday and a product launch on Monday, and that still looks right in year five," said Michael.
